eyond the conventional band concept, MAYSNOW is a musical project created by Daniele Rini (Ghost of Mary, Silvered) in memory of his friend Mimmo Angelini. The close artistic synergy with guitarist Roberto Vergallo (formerly of Silvered) immediately allowed for the development of a well-defined musical path. The songs carve their way through “memory, blending with dreams, dreams you wish were reality.” Stylistically, they navigate through grunge rock, sometimes subdued, fused with the dark-acoustic atmospheres typical of Nordic metal.
From the outset, the project has involved numerous musicians, most of whom were fortunate to have known Mimmo. Following the project’s presentation in November 2016, numerous shows followed in Salento, Basilicata, Campania, and Piemonte. The current lineup of the project includes Nicola Lezzi (Ghost of Mary) on bass, Paolo Bianchi on keyboards and synth, and Graziano Marra on drums.
In 2019, MAYSNOW won the “Va’ al Diavolo” contest organized by Collettivo SBAM, earning a spot on the stage of the Salento event “Sagra del Diavolo XIII” alongside other important national and international bands.
On December 19, 2019, MAYSNOW released the electric video clip of their first single, titled “Echoes of Rain,” marking an evolutionary step for the band, transitioning from a predominantly acoustic setup to now standing and “turning on the power.” The single, premiered exclusively on the webzine SpazioRock, preceded the release of MAYSNOW’s debut album, titled “The Unexpected,” containing 10 tracks and released in 2020 under the B-District label.
Also in 2020, MAYSNOW passed the regional selections of the Sanremo Rock event and performed on the stage of the Ariston Theatre in the national final.
MAYSNOW became the first band from Puglia to release their own piece in NFT format, making a special version of the song “Orchid” available on the OpenSea portal in 2021.
The second album “A Dream Within A Dream” is out via Sleaszy Rider Records, featuring DANIEL CAVANAGH (Anathema, Weather Systems) and RAGNAR ZOLBERG (Pain of Salvation, Sign).
